Job summary

Auburn University Libraries seeks a creative, mission-oriented Business Librarian to serve as liaison to the Harbert College of Business and the New Venture Accelerator. This twelve-month tenure-track role combines research, instruction, and outreach, with opportunities to contribute to collection development and program development.

The librarian will provide subject-specific research support, develop online instruction materials, and collaborate with library colleagues on teaching and outreach

Qualifications

• MLIS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program is required.
• Commitment to excellence in library services and continuous learning.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs of library users and to learn continuously.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and initiate/complete projects.
• Ability to contribute collegially in a team environment.
• Potential to meet promotion and tenure requirements for library faculty.
• Experience or interest in business/entrepreneurship is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison and conduct outreach to students, staff, and faculty in the College of Business.
• Support entrepreneurship programs and competitions in collaboration with relevant units.
• Provide subject-specific research assistance in business and entrepreneurship.
• Develop and teach outcome-based information literacy sessions; some evenings/weekends may be required.
• Create online instructional materials for business students.
• Select and coordinate collection development with Libraries' team.
• Participate in general education and instruction programs.
• Provide reference services using virtual and in-person tools.
• Perform other duties and assist with special projects.
