Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in industrial engineering or business studies.
  • Completion of Freshman year.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Knowledge and Skills Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills including an ability to interact with and establish strong working relationships with diverse individuals.
  • Project coordination with the ability to be proactive and identify creative, effective technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated PC skills and ability to work within Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting projects that identify customer needs and opportunities in end‑use industries like automotive, appliance, construction, soft furniture and more.
  • Assisting with product analysis and planning, which will require collaboration across sales, marketing, product management, supply chain, manufacturing, controlling and other functions.
  • Leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency and insights in support of the sales, marketing, product management and business support teams.

The Covestro Business Internship provides firsthand exposure to sales, marketing, product management and business support at one of the world’s largest and most innovative producers of polymers and high-performance plastics.

Throughout the summer internship program at Covestro’s headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA, you’ll work closely with our highly skilled and experienced commercial professionals in one of our businesses.

In addition to the work experience, you may have the opportunity to visit a plant and/or warehouse to give you a first‑hand look at our day‑to‑day operations.

You’ll contribute to ongoing projects, getting an intimate look at how Covestro identifies customer needs and keeps the flow of new and established products moving through the marketplace.

The internship program will begin in mid‑May 2027, and last approximately 12 weeks.
