Position Summary:
The Business Intelligence Supervisor is a hands-on leader responsible for delivering reliable reporting, analytics, and data solutions that support informed business decisions. This role partners with business and technology stakeholders to understand needs, establish priorities, translate requirements, and deliver sustainable solutions. Success requires equal strength in stakeholder partnership, technical execution, project coordination, and people leadership.

The Supervisor leads the day-to-day work and development of the Business Intelligence team while establishing standards for data quality, reporting, documentation, security, and support. This position is key to creating and managing the organization's longer-term business intelligence and data roadmap.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leaders to clarify needs, define requirements, and translate business questions into practical solutions.
  • Lead and aid in prioritizing the team’s reporting, dashboard, analytics, and data-solution work.
  • Validate data and analytical results to ensure information is accurate, consistent, and actionable
  • Communicate analytical findings in business terms and balance value, risk, scalability, and user experience.
  • Establish and maintain standards for data quality, governance, documentation, security, testing and ongoing support
  • Identify and drive opportunities for automation, reporting efficiency, standardized metrics, and expanded self-service analytics.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop team members while balancing priorities, capacity and competing demands.
  • Partner with technology, risk, compliance, and business teams to support implementation, adoption and change management.
  • Manage strategic roadmap for business intelligence, analytics, data management, and decision-support capabilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of business intelligence, reporting, and analytical problem-solving.
  • Strong requirements-gathering and business-analysis skills, including the ability to move from an ambiguous business need to a well-defined, implementable solution.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and communicate meaningful insights to tell a clear and actionable story with data.
  • Strong business acumen, stakeholder management and ability to connect data and technology solutions to operational and strategic outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, manage competing demands, and coordinate internal and contracted resources.
  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build trust, manage conflict, influence without relying solely on authority, and work effectively across organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with SQL, relational data, data warehousing concepts, data integration, data modeling, and data-quality practices.
  • Experience developing and supporting dashboards and reports; Power BI experience strongly preferred.
  • Sound judgment, and commitment to accurate, secure, documented and sustainable solutions.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Applied Economics, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in business intelligence, reporting, analytics, or related discipline.
  • Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders to define needs and deliver data or technology solutions.
  • Hands on experience developing dashboards, reports, queries, data models, and analytical solutions in a hands-on capacity.
  • Previous supervisory, team lead, mentoring, or coordinating the work of employees and/or contractors preferred.
  • Experience in financial services, banking, or credit unions preferred.

Physical Requirements(with or without accommodation):

  • Long periods of sitting will occur regularly.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving 15 lbs or less.
