Job description

The Business Intelligence Analyst oversees the ongoing development, operations, and standardization of the enterprise data warehouse and operational data store. This position collaborates with departments to identify, scope, understand, document, and analyze business opportunities and requirements. The Business Intelligence Analyst identifies effective reporting techniques, data sources, risks, constraints, and desired report formats that drive the development and design of BI solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Collaborate with database administrators on the ongoing operations and standardization of enterprise data warehouse and operational data store. This duty is performed monthly, about 5% of the time.
  2. Manage administration, configuration, monitoring, performance, maintenance and usability of BI systems. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
  3. Develop, maintain and manage metadata, reporting, analytics, dashboards, report definitions, data extracts, etc. Designs, codes, tests and document all new or existing BI solutions. Writing complex queries, views and stored procedures. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
  4. Solve complex data issue using data analyst skills to determine root cause problem for data integrity and data quality issues. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
  5. Collaborate with departments to identify and scope the business opportunity, to understand, document and analyze business requirements, identify effective reporting techniques, the best data sources, risks and constraints, and desired reporting formats that drive the development and design of BI solution. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
  6. Maintain a strong understanding of business workflow, processes, and events and how these are captured in transactional systems. This duty is performed weekly, about 5% of the time.
  7. Provide guidance and technical support to departments regarding in data analytics, business measures, and reporting. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
  8. Improve and streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value. This duty is performed weekly, about 5% of the time.
  9. Communicates plans, progress, and issues to management in a timely manner. This duty is performed weekly, about 5% of the time.
  10. Analyze, estimate, and fulfill requests for BI solutions. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.
  11. Lead or participate as a team member on organization projects. This duty is performed weekly, about 10% of the time.
  12. Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate initiative timelines. This duty is performed as needed, about 4% of the time.
  13. Maintain knowledge of current and future techniques and technologies through research, training labs, reading, conferences and experimentation with new technologies in the workplace. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
  14. Back-up other members of the team as required. This duty is performed as needed, about 3% of the time.
  15. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed annually.
  16. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  17. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 3 years related experience and/or training, and 3 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane, algebra, solid geometry and trigonometry.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
