Job summary

Jim Adler & Associates is seeking a data analyst with strong SQL and BI dashboard skills. You will build and optimize dashboards, collaborate with firm leadership to gather requirements, and ensure accurate, governance‑compliant reporting across key metrics.

The role emphasizes data pipelines, transformations, and user training to enable self-serve analytics for attorneys and staff. Experience with Snowflake and cloud data sources is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a BI, reporting, or data analyst role.
  • Strong, demonstrable SQL skills, including joins and aggregations.
  • Hands-on experience building dashboards in modern BI platforms (Domo, Power BI, Tableau, SSRS).
  • Experience gathering requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translating them into reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and delivering validated data.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with attorneys and executives.

  • Train and support users to navigate dashboards and self-serve.

Job description

  • Build, maintain, and improve dashboards and reports, primarily within the firm's business intelligence platform (Domo) and other reporting tools, to meet the recurring and ad hoc needs of firm leadership and individual departments.
  • Partner with law firm management, department managers, and attorneys to gather requirements, clarify the question behind the request, and deliver reporting that answers it.
  • Write and optimize SQL to query Snowflake and SQL Server.
  • Build and maintain the data pipelines and connections that move data from Snowflake and S3 into our BI platform.
  • Develop and maintain data transformations to prepare clean, reusable datasets.
  • Track and report on key firm metrics such as case volume and aging, intake and conversion rates, settlement values and timelines, attorney and paralegal caseloads, marketing and lead-source performance, medical records and lien status, and revenue and fee reporting.
  • Document datasets, definitions, and report logic, and help maintain a shared understanding of what each metric means.
  • Train and support users so they can navigate dashboards and self-serve where appropriate.
  • Work with the IT team to ensure data access, security, and governance practices protect sensitive information.
Required Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a business intelligence, reporting, or data analyst role.
  • Strong, demonstrable SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, and writing efficient queries against relational and cloud data sources.
  • Hands‑on experience building dashboards and reports in a modern BI platform (such as Domo, Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS).
  • Experience gathering requirements from non‑technical stakeholders and translating them into finished reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and a track record of delivering accurate, validated data.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain data to attorneys and executives.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities across different departments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Domo is highly preferred. Candidates with strong SQL skills and hands‑on experience in another modern BI tool, such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS, will also be considered.
  • Experience with Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse.
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, connectors, or ETL/ELT processes that move data from a warehouse or cloud storage into a BI platform.
  • Experience with Filevine and Lead Docket.
  • Background in a personal injury law firm or other legal or professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with Amazon S3 or other cloud file storage.
  • Understanding of handling sensitive data (PII and PHI) and related privacy considerations.
  • Scripting experience for data preparation is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of professional experience.
