Job description

About BBC Studios

A globally renowned media company borne of the BBC. We make and distribute some of the world’s most sought-after TV, audio and digital content. Our ambition is to be the home of the most powerful, entertaining and inspiring stories for people all around the world.

About The Strategy & Business Intelligence Team

The Strategy & Business Intelligence team supports BBC Studios Ad Sales by driving commercial growth, business performance and future capability through strategic insight, trusted data, connected commercial platforms and high-quality business intelligence.

This role is part of the Revenue Performance team within Strategy & Business Intelligence. The function is responsible for ensuring the North Am sales teams are equipped with information and insights to enable them to maximise their sales efforts.

Working across Sales, Data Solutions, Product, Technology and Senior Leadership, the function spans many far-reaching areas of the business and uses this unique view to offer an important perspective on commercial decisions. It ensures pricing decisions and financial forecasts are rooted in robust data and the latest business context.

About The Business Intelligence Manager Role

We are looking for a commercially minded and data literate Business Intelligence Manager who is enthusiastic about being involved in forecasting, sales strategy and harnessing data across multiple systems.

This is a role where curiosity and collaboration are key. Working across multiple diverse stakeholders in a broad and complicated business means great exposure and requires strong adaptability and communication skills.

Whilst regular reporting is a part of the role, we are looking for someone who can seek opportunities in automation to free up time to analyse other areas of the business and push for change. There is large scope for up-skill in technical skills. This role has exposure to senior levels of leadership.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Forecasting: Own the regular forecasting process for North Am, working with senior sales leads to gain insight into regional activity and distil the information into a robust financial forecast with a clear narrative.
  • Dashboard creation/maintenance: Understand requirements from stakeholders and if necessary, collaborate with our data team to set up a data pipeline and create a self-serve dashboard on Tableau.
  • Stakeholder management: Ensure that senior sales leads in North Am have the information they need to do their best work. Make sure that the systems and tools we have in place are working for them, and if not, driving change through curiosity, networking and persistence.
  • Team collaboration: Work with parallel roles in Singapore and London to learn, share, and find ways to join up regional projects to deliver global benefits. Work closely with team members in Strategy and Data roles to drive projects forwards.
  • Market analysis: Respond to ad hoc requests from North Am sales teams to lean on our market intelligence tools to produce analysis which might zoom in on a certain sector or advertiser. These should supply sales teams with the information they need to make informed strategic decisions or get them ready for a pitch.
  • Financial reporting: Work with key stakeholders in finance and across products to deliver regular financial reporting. Once reports are understood, lean into automation to minimise the workload and improve the output of these reports.
  • Pricing: Work to keep prices relevant and optimised to maximise the yield from Sales teams’ efforts. Input into the pricing of any new commercial products through thorough analysis.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM subject
  • 4+ years of work experience in a data analytics role with an exceptional track record.
  • Experience in management reporting, automation and business forecasting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging AI-powered tools to automate routine tasks and enhance insight generation.
  • Demonstrable experience working on Excel.
  • Experience with visualisation tools e.g. Tableau, PowerPoint.
  • Proven experience defining and delivering project roadmaps; simplifying complex problems and translating business priorities into solutions.
  • Proven ability to deliver across multiple concurrent initiatives amongst organisational complexity.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior leaders and building trusted cross‑functional relationships.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with SQL, Python or other analytical programming languages.
  • Experience working within media, advertising, publishing or commercial sales organisations, with an understanding of industry trends and competitors.
