Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Power BI development including data modeling, DAX, and dashboard design.
• Advanced experience converting SSRS reports into Power BI or Paginated Reports.
• Experience migrating reports to new data sources, updating queries and redesigning datasets.
• Proficiency in T-SQL for validating data, rebuilding queries, and understanding legacy SSRS datasets.
• Power Query (M) for data shaping and transformation.
• Strong understanding of dataset architecture, model optimization, relationships, and performance.

Responsibilities

This job posting is for a temporary contractor role as an employee of Atrium assigned to work at Humana.

NEED - PowerBI and SQL talent - Strong Focus on Power BI development and SQL code.

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer supports modernization efforts by transitioning existing reporting solutions to updated data sources and platforms.

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where evaluation of reporting logic, data models, and technical dependencies requires an in-depth understanding of Power BI, DAX, and SSRS/Paginated reporting.

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer applies specialized knowledge of Power BI development, DAX modeling, report migrations, dataset design, and paginated report rebuilding. This role makes decisions on moderately complex to complex technical approaches for assigned project components and exercises considerable latitude in determining methods, requirements, and sequencing of work to meet delivery timelines.

Required Qualifications

• 5 or more years of hands‑on experience developing Power BI solutions, including data modeling, DAX measure creation, and report/dashboard design.
• Advanced experience converting or rebuilding SSRS reports into Power BI or Paginated Reports.
• Experience transitioning reports to new data sources, including updating queries, validating logic, and redesigning datasets.
• Experience with T‑SQL for validating data sources, rebuilding queries, and understanding legacy SSRS datasets.
• Proficiency in Power Query (M) for data shaping and transformation.
• Strong understanding of dataset architecture, model optimization, relationships, and performance tuning.
• Ability to analyze existing reporting logic and accurately replicate or improve it in Power BI or Paginated Reports.
• Experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting requirements, logic changes, and technical decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in DAX, including time‑intelligence, advanced modeling patterns, and calculation optimization.
• Experience building enterprise‑grade Power BI semantic models or reusable datasets.
• Experience with Power BI Report Builder for paginated report development.
• Familiarity with migration of reporting solutions within large enterprise environments.

Pay Rate Range

52 - 57 USD hourly

The individual selected for this role will be offered the role as an employee of Atrium; compensation, medical benefits, fringe benefits and other terms and conditions of employment shall be presented by Atrium upon offer. The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, location and/or being pursued and other job‑related factors permitted by law. In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
