Description

Business Intelligence Engineer

The Business Intelligence Engineer will design, build, and maintain systems that support data visualizations, reporting, and dashboards. The role ensures decision-makers have access to accurate, timely, and insightful data, working closely with data analysts and stakeholders to build reliable reporting foundations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain semantic data models in Power BI to support reporting needs.
• Write and optimize DAX expressions for dynamic measures, calculations, and KPIs.
• Respond to and troubleshoot data issues, bugs, or report inconsistencies promptly.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
• Support and maintain ETL pipelines for accurate data flow.
• Monitor and update data models as business needs evolve.
• Work with data engineers and analysts to align data definitions and sources.
• Maintain data integrity through testing frameworks.
• Document model structures, business rules, and data definitions for team reference.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Power BI or Tableau, including DAX or custom calculations.
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis.
• Strong Excel skills for data analysis.
• Experience with ETL tools like SSIS or Azure Data Factory.
• Understanding of data modeling concepts such as star and snowflake schemas.
• Attention to detail and good design and usability sense.
