Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior BI & Analytics Engineer to join a growing data and analytics team within a leading investment management organization. This individual will help build and maintain business intelligence and analytics solutions that provide investment, portfolio, finance, and operational teams with better access to data and actionable insights.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of experience within private equity, asset management, or a similar investment environment and hands-on experience with Power BI, Sigma Computing, SQL, and dbt.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering, data analytics, or a related role.
• Prior experience within private equity, asset management, investment management, or a closely related financial services environment is required.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI and/or Sigma Computing.
• Hands-on experience with dbt, including building or maintaining data models and transformations.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL.
• Experience working with financial, investment, fund, portfolio, or performance-related data.
• Strong Excel skills and an understanding of how to transition manual reporting processes into scalable BI and data solutions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Snowflake or another modern cloud data warehouse.
• Experience with both Sigma and Power BI.
• Familiarity with private markets concepts such as funds, portfolios, investments, performance, valuations, capital activity, or AUM.
• Exposure to platforms such as iLevel, Anaplan, Databricks, or similar investment/data platforms.
• Basic Python experience is a plus.

Ideal Profile

The ideal candidate is an early-career BI / Analytics Engineer who has already worked within private equity or asset management and can bridge the gap between data and the business. They should be comfortable using SQL and dbt to model and transform data, then leveraging Sigma and Power BI to turn that data into dashboards and actionable insights for investment and business stakeholders.
