As a Business Intelligence Senior Consultant - Higher Education, you’ll help translate institutional data into actionable insights that support your Higher Education client's academic mission, operational effectiveness, and long‑term planning. If you enjoy working collaboratively, solving ambiguous problems, and making data usable for non‑technical audiences, this role offers meaningful impact in a higher‑education consulting environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop business intelligence strategies in collaboration with college and university clients
- Perform implementation services such as training, functional consulting, and technical support at client sites
- Develop and deploy business intelligence solutions based on the Ellucian Banner® reporting tools, including Argos, Cognos, Operational Data Store (ODS), and the Banner® Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and scorecards using BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).
- Translate business requirements into reporting and analytics solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Develop standardized and ad-hoc reports to support operational, financial, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting outputs.
- Collaborate with business leaders, analysts, and technical teams to understand reporting needs.
- Present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide consulting support by advising on best practices for data visualization and analytics.
- Gather feedback and continuously improve BI solutions.
Qualifications
- Higher Education Experience with Ellucian Banner Expertise
- Strong SQL proficiency with experience in Oracle Database and PostgreSQL
- Experience working with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) in complex data environments
- Hands‑on experience building dashboards and reporting in BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Ellucian Argos, or IBM Cognos Analytics
- Experience working within higher education environments
- Proven ability to lead requirements gathering, business analysis, and technical documentation
- Strong stakeholder management and cross‑functional communication skills
- Ellucian Banner or Colleague experience is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of data modelling, star schema, data warehouse best practices
Pay range and compensation package
- The salary range is $90,000 -$120,000 + bonus

The listed salary range for this position is indicative and subject to adjustment based on the candidate's unique skills and location. Final compensation will be determined through mutual agreement between the successful candidate and SIG.
