Job summary

Global Channel Management in Houston seeks an experienced BI Architect to lead analytics delivery in the Oil & Gas domain. You will translate business needs into BI solutions, design semantic data models, and develop prototypes to guide reporting requirements.

Requirements include a BA/BS in IT or business, 7+ years in BI delivery, proficiency with Teradata SQL, Spotfire, Tableau, and related tools, and ability to relocate locally. This is a Houston-based role with a short-term engagement.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in IT or business-related field.
• Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is preferred.
• Local to Houston area or willing to relocate to Houston.
• 7+ years of BI solution delivery experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate customer needs into BI solutions.
• Experience with Teradata SQL and BI tools such as Spotfire/Tableau.

Qualifications

Capture Reporting and Analytic Requirements

• Develop BI prototypes to aid in the identification of analytic requirements
• Design the semantic data models designed to meet reporting/analytic requirements
• Participate in educating employees on positioning and use of BI tools within the enterprise.

Position Requirements

• BA/BS degree in an Information Technology or Business-related field required
• Experience in the Oil & Gas industry
• Local to the Houston, Texas area or will relocate to Houston area
• 7+ years of experience working with BI Solution delivery
• Communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong problem-solving skills and innovation
• Experience in collecting user requirements and ability to understand complex business needs
• Ability to translate customer needs into BI application solutions.
• Experience with Teradata DBMS and Teradata SQL as a BI architect
• Experience using TIBCO Spotfire
• Experience with other BI tools, e.g. Tableau, MicroStrategy, and Business Objects a plus
