Join The Ascendancy Group (TAG) in supporting the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Leader Assessment Program (NLAP), a program that helps prepare future NSW leaders through fair, transparent competency assessment evolutions and professional-development opportunities. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for a data-driven professional who can turn complex assessment and operational data into clear, accurate, decision-ready insights.

You will support the NLAP Program Manager, provide functional support during NLAP sessions, and lead the collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting of program data. Your work will help leadership understand participant performance, assessment trends, and opportunities to optimize NLAP operations.

Overview

The Ascendancy Group is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst II to provide on-site business intelligence, data-analysis, reporting, dashboard-development, and assessment-program support for NLAP at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, California. The Analyst will manage the flow of relevant data; develop models, reports, and visualizations; maintain data-collection processes; and communicate findings to technical and nontechnical NSW and Navy stakeholders.

The Analyst will also supervise the Administrative Support Assistant assigned to this contract and may serve as the NLAP Moderator during panel milestone interviews when requested by the Government. The Moderator ensures continuity and adherence to approved interview scripts and rules of engagement; the Moderator does not assess participant milestone readiness.

Security Requirement

An active U.S. Government Secret security clearance is required before the start date and must be maintained throughout employment.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Collect business-intelligence data from NSW and NLAP sources.
• Collaborate with program stakeholders to define key performance indicators, metrics, and data requirements; analyze, summarize, and route information to appropriate stakeholders on time.
• Store and manage data in Government-controlled NLAP databases; establish operational procedures for database use and provide technical support as required.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses and evaluations of NLAP operations and assessment processes to identify trends, assess effectiveness, and inform decision makers on optimization opportunities.
• Apply regression algorithms, statistical software, and computer programs to support predictive modeling, classification, data normalization, and regularization.
• Establish and maintain a user-friendly, interactive NLAP registration and peer/subordinate survey collection system.
• Collect, process, and analyze large datasets from NLAP and the NSW Continuum of Leadership Development (CLD) program; coordinate with CLD personnel as directed by the NLAP Program Manager.
• Develop and maintain complex data models, reports, dashboards, and visualizations using business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Create clear, compelling visual products that communicate findings to technical and nontechnical Navy and NSW audiences.
• Remain aware of leadership-assessment trends across other Navy communities and incorporate relevant insights into program support.
• Prepare and deliver quarterly NLAP analytic and performance reports by the last workday of each quarter, including participant-performance depictions, assessment-trend analysis, and data summaries.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of the Administrative Support Assistant supporting NLAP.
• Provide on-site functional support for NLAP sessions and ensure assigned PWS requirements are completed.
• When requested, serve as NLAP Moderator during panel milestone interviews by following approved scripts, preparing for deliberations, enforcing rules of engagement, and maintaining situational awareness, discretion, tact, and continuity across NLAP iterations.
• Safeguard classified and sensitive information and comply with applicable Department of War, Department of the Navy, USSOCOM, NSW, cybersecurity, privacy, and information-security requirements.
• Support Government-directed training and authorized travel as required for NLAP activities.

Requirements

• U.S. citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required at start date.
• Bachelor’s degree in business intelligence analysis, statistics, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience developing customer-directed scoring and assessment templates or applications that are easy to use and provide real-time display capabilities.
• Minimum five years of experience presenting performance summaries, analyzing performance trends, and developing future performance deliverables for assessment programs.
• Demonstrated ability, in at least two instances, to understand collected data, conduct quantitative and/or qualitative analysis, and present summaries that facilitate executive decisions.
• Demonstrated experience applying at least two data-collection best practices, including balancing stakeholder needs, maintaining accurate real-time data collection, using analytical tools to portray assessment results, ensuring data accuracy, or designing clear and actionable displays.
• Experience with data mining, data visualization, predictive analysis, machine learning, regression methods, statistical software, and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Strong critical-thinking, creative problem-solving, communication, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with senior officers and other high-level stakeholders in a confidential assessment environment.
• Ability to work full-time on site at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, California, and obtain access to military installations.
