Job description

This position requires on-site training for six (6) months at our Data Center located in Daleville, IN, and then on-site at least one week per quarter ongoing.

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team! This position will deliver accurate and sustainable data management and reporting solutions; identify, develop, and support the implementation of process improvements.

As part of this role, you will:

1. Perform data profiling, modeling, and business logic analysis, and execute data management solutions to meet business requirements.
2. Provide consultative services to management, including data analysis, data management, integration activities, data and system interconnectivity, and design.
3. Collaborate with business units to perform requirements analysis, project scoping, data analysis, and business logic transformation.
4. Analyze business processes with business units to identify, develop, and assist in implementing process improvement opportunities.
5. Ensure reliable and accurate enterprise report delivery, including data analysis projects, reporting system troubleshooting, and support for report and information delivery.
6. Operate in alignment with reporting development lifecycle strategy and business intelligence governance framework.
7. Build and interpret advanced T-SQL coding for reporting and data management activities.
8. Maintain documentation of BI processes according to best practices.
9. Collaborate with IT Data Engineering to provide data and reporting solutions that meet business needs.
10. Complete periodic attestations, controls, and performance procedures as required.

Minimum qualifications include:

1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), business, or a related field, or an associate degree/two years of college plus two years of related work/military experience, or four years of related work/military experience, along with additional experience as detailed below.
2. One (1) year of experience in business intelligence, business analysis, data governance, data analysis, or related fields.
3. One (1) year of report writing experience using SQL, Power BI, or similar technology.

Preferred qualifications include:

1. Business intelligence or related certifications.
2. Knowledge of data governance practices and issues related to management of enterprise information assets.
3. Experience in finance, credit, risk, or operations-related data projects, especially around data transformation.
4. Experience in banking or financial services industry.
