Job summary

CareVet is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to partner with Finance, Operations, Clinical Leadership, Payroll, and Executive Leadership across a large multi-site veterinary hospital network. You will turn complex financial, labor, and clinical data into actionable insights to drive performance and strategic initiatives.

You'll leverage Redshift, Snowflake, SQL, and Power BI to design scalable reporting, automate analytics, and provide visibility into financial and operational performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in business intelligence, healthcare analytics, financial analysis or a related analytical role.
• Proficiency in SQL querying large datasets.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Redshift, or similar data warehouse platforms.
• Advanced experience developing dashboards and analytics solutions using Power BI.
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasts, and performance metrics.
• Advanced Excel skills including modeling, pivot tables, Power Query, and complex formulas.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards to provide real-time visibility into operational, financial, and workforce performance.
• Design and write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple systems.

The Position

The Business Intelligence Analyst serves as a strategic partner to Finance, Operations, Clinical Leadership, Payroll, and Executive Leadership, providing analytical support across a large multi-site veterinary hospital organization. This role is responsible for transforming complex financial, labor, operational, and clinical data into actionable insights that drive performance improvement, operational excellence, and informed decision-making across a network of hospitals. The position combines expertise in financial analysis, labor analytics, business intelligence, and data management to support strategic initiatives, budgeting, forecasting, labor optimization, and enterprise reporting.

This individual will leverage data platforms including Redshift, Snowflake, SQL, and Power BI to design scalable reporting solutions, develop key performance indicators, automate analytics processes, and provide visibility into financial and operational performance across multiple hospital locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI to provide real-time visibility into operational, financial, and workforce performance.
• Design and write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple systems and databases.
• Utilize Snowflake and Redshift data warehouse environments to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and data governance initiatives.
• Define, develop, and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure labor productivity, financial performance, operational efficiency, patient outcomes, and strategic initiatives.
• Partner with stakeholders to establish reporting standards, data definitions, and performance measurement frameworks.
• Identify trends, anomalies, and business drivers through advanced quantitative analysis and data visualization.
• Serve as a strategic analytical partner supporting a network of hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities.
• Collaborate with operational leaders to identify performance improvement opportunities across multiple locations.
• Translate analytical findings into clear recommendations and executive-ready presentations.
• Identify opportunities for process automation, reporting enhancements, and data-driven operational improvements.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in business intelligence, healthcare analytics, financial analysis or a related analytical role.
• Proficiency in SQL with experience querying large datasets.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Redshift, or similar data warehouse platforms.
• Advanced experience developing dashboards and analytics solutions using Power BI.
• Strong financial acumen with experience analyzing budgets, forecasts, and operational performance metrics.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including financial modeling, pivot tables, Power Query, and complex formulas.
• Experience supporting multi-site healthcare, hospital, or clinical operations preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences.
