The Opportunity

As a Business Insurance Agent - Intermediate, you will work in an inbound sales environment advising business owners on insurance and risk management, utilizing a full suite of Commercial Insurance Products to meet each member's or non-member's unique risk profile.

You will leverage your knowledge of the insurance marketplace, carrier appetite, underwriter relationships, and carrier contracts to place coverage for members' businesses.

Daily responsibilities include handling 7-10 inbound calls for business insurance coverage, collaborating with other carriers, and making outbound follow-up calls to members and non-members.

USAA provides 13-15 weeks of training to ensure you understand our products and can support members independently. Training hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm CT, and work hours are Monday - Friday, 9:30am-6:00pm CT.

This position is remote within the continental U.S., with occasional travel. It is a full-time, hourly, non-commission role.

What You'll Do
  • Use a consultative approach to resolve customer needs, establish trust, and provide tailored solutions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with members, non-members, and insurance carriers.
  • Ensure compliance and proper documentation to limit Errors & Omissions exposure.
  • Assess business risks and offer appropriate risk management and mitigation solutions.
  • Research industry trends and regulatory changes to stay informed.
  • Utilize Agency Management Systems/CRM and carrier platforms for product selection.
  • Calculate Insurance to Value (ITV) for various properties, considering geographic and structural features.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with business activities in accordance with policies.
What You Have
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of insurance sales/service experience or experience in commercial insurance or broker agencies.
  • Valid Property and Casualty license or ability to obtain it within 90 days.
What Sets You Apart
  • 2+ years of Commercial Lines Insurance experience, including writing new business.
  • Experience quoting and binding directly with insured clients.
  • Familiarity with Agency Management Systems and Salesforce.
  • Experience in multi-state Commercial Lines and call center environments.
  • Active P&C General Lines License.
Compensation

Salary ranges from $43,680 to $76,610, based on experience and location. USAA does not sponsor visas. We consider applicants with criminal histories under applicable Fair Chance laws.
