Qualifications

  • U.S. JD or LLM required.
  • Member of a U.S. State bar or Washington DC bar association.
  • 0-2 years of experience at Associate level.
  • Academic understanding of immigration law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and drafting fluent prose.
  • Dedication to exceptional client service.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an expert-level understanding of client base, industries, and firm services.
  • Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for visa status.
  • Work with global mobility personnel to prepare petitions and applications.
  • Draft and prepare letters and legal documents based on precedents.
  • Conduct research to support client requests and projects.
  • Supervise paralegal staff in record keeping and document prep.
  • Learn and implement guidance from supervisors and colleagues.
  • Communicate proactively with clients within SLAs and team protocols.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve client issues and support projects.
  • Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.
  • Use firm technology accurately and input data correctly.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and firm activities.
  • Share immigration knowledge with more junior colleagues.
  • Ensure adherence to firm standards and policies to mitigate risk.

Responsibilities
  • Develop an expert-level understanding of your client base and the industries you support as well as the firm’s practice areas and services provided.
  • Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non‑immigrant and immigrant visa status.
  • Work with client global mobility personnel to prepare petitions and applications for submission to government agencies for non‑immigrant and immigrant foreign national employees.
  • Draft and prepare letters and legal documents, typically based on established precedents.
  • Conduct research to support client requests and projects.
  • Supervise the work of paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and effectively implement guidance and direction offered by supervisors and experienced colleagues.
  • Proactively communicate with clients, within SLAs/team protocols and with a precise, efficient, thoughtful, and organized response.
  • Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues, share information, and support client projects.
  • Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.
  • Use firm technology accurately and in line with team and client protocols, ensuring accurate and complete data is entered.
  • Actively contribute to team meetings and firmwide activities.
  • Act as a source of advice and training to more junior colleagues, proactively sharing immigration knowledge and expertise.
  • Ensure self and team follow documented firm standards and policy to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational and client compliance.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • U.S. JD or LLM required.
  • Member of a U.S. State bar or Washington DC bar association.
  • 0-2 years of experience at Associate level.
  • Academic understanding of immigration law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proofread documents, draft fluent prose, and avoid grammatical mistakes without the aid of AI engines.
