Job summary

Flex is seeking a Business Excellence Leader based in Austin, TX to drive a culture of continuous improvement using lean and six sigma methods. You will lead waste reduction efforts and standardize processes across functions to deliver measurable value.

The role reports to Manager - Business Excellence and requires collaboration with operations, finance, and HR to align process improvements with business goals and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing industry experience.
  • Experience in continuous improvement projects and training.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a change agent and drive lean and six sigma activities as defined in the GBE A3.
  • Apply and deploy Flex Lean Enterprise Values across the organization.
  • Eliminate waste and create value by reducing variation in processes to achieve sustainable results.
  • Utilize Kaizen techniques to initiate process improvements and cost reductions.
  • Create and validate processes and standards based on standard work and best practices.
  • Identify and drive Kaizen projects and broadcast best practices across timelines.
  • Conduct lean training and accelerate Lean culture deployment across the organization.
  • Assess Continuous Improvement maturity in operations, supply chain, and office functions.

Summary

The "Business Excellence Leader" will be based in Austin, TX reporting to Manager - Business Excellence.

In charge of continuously driving a culture of excellence in the organization and enabling waste removal activities using lean and six sigma approaches and tools and guiding actions to a sustainable conclusion.

Responsibilities
  • Work as a change agent and drive lean and six sigma activities as defined in the GBE A3.
  • Applying and deploying Flex Lean Enterprise Values across the entire organization.
  • In charge of eliminating waste and create value by reducing variation in the processes to achieve sustainable results throughout the organization and segment.
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) techniques, initiate process improvements, cycle time reductions, cost reductions and other activities aimed at reducing/eliminating non-value-added activities in the process.
  • Create and validate processes/standards based on standard work and BPs
  • Identify, Drive and Yokoten Best practices-based Kaizen projects on the accord timelines
  • Conduct Industrial Engineering lean and six sigma training and accelerate the proliferation of Lean culture thru out the organization by guiding and facilitating Continues Improvement Lean Deployment.
  • Perform assessment of Continuous Improvement Maturity Tracker (CIMT) Operation/Supply chain/Office and drive initiatives to close gaps.
  • Agile participate in the selection and executions of lean and six sigma projects.
  • Transformation (continuous workshop in 90 days). Facilitate Continues Improvement Transformation activities through Kaizen, workshops, and Small Group Activities.
  • Comprehend and use Center point portal as depository to enable data research and cost saving effectiveness
  • Achieve Industrial, Lean & 6 sigma training & Certification in order to become subject matter expert in the organization
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Industrial Engineering preferred).
  • 3 or more years of industry work experience from manufacturing companies (automotive, electronics or medical device, or similar), required in:
  • Capacity models
  • Time studies and routing
  • Solid understanding of bottlenecks and tack time
  • Continuous Improvement project management experience, including facilitation and training experience.
  • Six Sigma Project experience (e.g. leading, training or facilitating them).
  • Kaizen events facilitation
  • Must be able to guide direct projects based on business initiatives and customer needs.
  • Management skills and technical experience on Finance, HR, Materials and Operations activities.
  • Demonstrates detailed expertise situations and multiple areas.
  • Comprehends the strategic impact of the function across sites.
