Job summary

The Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES is seeking a classroom teacher for Innovative Programs at SUNY Adirondack, Queensbury Campus. You will plan lessons, adapt materials, and guide students to meet learning goals in Business/Marketing.

Salary ranges from $50,678 to $71,564, prorated to 60% FTE, commensurate with experience. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–12:03 PM. Diversity is encouraged; credentials reviewed by the Regional Certification Officer.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold NYS CTE Certification in Business or NYS Classroom Teacher Certification in Business and Marketing, or be eligible for the required CTE certification based on relevant industry experience (4 years minimum or 2 years minimum with related degree).

Responsibilities

• Plan appropriately for class presentation.
• Adapt methods and materials to meet students' individual needs and abilities.
• Orient students regarding subject content, goals and objectives and teach in a consistent manner.
• Present recommended course content in assigned classes.
• Control and supervise classes to foster learning.
• Evaluate and report student progress at designated intervals.
• Maintain student attendance records as prescribed.
• Be familiar with and operate under school policies and procedures.
• Supervise classroom equipment and inventory; ensure student safety.
• Participate in curriculum and program development; collaborate with staff.

Location: SUNY Adirondack , Queensbury Campus

The classroom teacher shall be directly responsible to the Principal for Innovative Programs or other designated supervisor for the purpose of carrying out assigned portions of the educational program.

• Plan appropriately for class presentation.
• Adapt methods and materials to meet students' individual needs and abilities.
• Orient students in regard to subject content, goals and objectives and teach them in a consistent manner
• Present recommended course content in assigned classes.
• Control and supervise classes in a manner that will be conducive to learning.
• Evaluate and report on student progress at designated intervals according to established procedures.
• Maintain student attendance records in the prescribed manner.
• Be familiar with and operate under school policies, procedures and regulations.
• Supervise the care and use of classroom equipment and supplies and maintain proper inventory procedures.
• Maintain supervision necessary for general student safety and control.
• Participate in the development of curriculum and programs.
• Cooperate with professional and non-professional staff of this school district and other school districts in collaborative activities.
• Serve as case manager for assigned students.
• And other such duties as may be assigned.
