Job description

Business Development Representative (Pharmaceuticals): Columbus, GA/Auburn, AL Territory

At Galt Pharmaceuticals, we've found a better way to improve patients' quality of life through innovative products that address unmet clinical needs. At the same time, we're creating life-changing opportunities for entrepreneurs, employees, and the communities we serve.

The Business Development Representative is responsible for developing and managing territory accounts through healthcare provider offices while effectively managing resources and expenses. This role requires a unique blend of sales acumen, business analysis, and entrepreneurial thinking. Successful candidates are naturally curious, solutions-oriented professionals who can identify opportunities, overcome challenges, and build lasting value-based relationships with customers.

Why Join Galt Pharmaceuticals?

We're not your traditional pharmaceutical company.

Our culture is entrepreneurial, collaborative, and employee-focused. We empower our team members to think creatively, solve complex challenges, and make a meaningful impact every day. At Galt, you'll work alongside driven professionals who are passionate about delivering better outcomes for patients while continuously learning and growing. We value innovation, accountability, and work-life balance, offering flexibility and autonomy that allow our employees to thrive both professionally and personally.

What We Offer

This full-time salaried position includes a comprehensive benefits package and an exceptional work-life balance through our 4-day workweek (Monday-Thursday, with Fridays off)!

Benefits include:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Join a collaborative team that values creative problem-solving, entrepreneurial thinking, and a customer-first approach in a fast-paced, solutions-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Business Development
  • Develop and manage the territory as a business profit center.
  • Create and execute a territory business plan to achieve sales objectives, including account targeting, marketing initiatives, expense management, and time allocation.
  • Build and develop a minimum of 20 accounts that meet established "Galt 10" performance parameters.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, medical practices, and pharmacy partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales, to share insights and best practices.
Territory Management
  • Represent Galt Pharmaceuticals in alignment with the company's Vision and Guiding Principles.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the communities and healthcare landscape within the assigned territory.
  • Analyze sales, prescription, and market data to identify opportunities, trends, and growth strategies.
  • Effectively utilize CRM platforms and business analytics tools to track performance and customer engagement.
  • Take a relationship-based approach to territory management, focusing on patient and provider needs rather than competitive targeting.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Galt's mission of delivering "A Better Way" to provide pharmaceutical care, one patient at a time.
  • Adapt quickly to changes in the marketplace and business environment to drive continued account growth.
  • Make fiscally responsible decisions regarding territory expenses and resource allocation.
  • Partner with Accounting and Compliance teams when necessary to assist with account documentation and payment collection.
  • Execute territory call plans and routing strategies to maximize effectiveness across healthcare offices, pharmacies, physicians, and anchor pharmacy accounts.
Account Management
  • Execute Galt's Account Management and Sales Processes.
  • Partner with customers to identify challenges and implement solutions that create value for their business and patients.
  • Differentiate Galt through exceptional concierge-level service and customer support.
  • Actively listen to internal and external stakeholders to uncover needs, barriers, and opportunities.
  • Leverage strong problem-solving skills and business knowledge to facilitate meaningful customer solutions.
Professional Skills:
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and consultative selling skills.
  • Strong active listening, presentation, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex medical and pharmaceutical concepts.
  • Proficiency with iPads, computers, mobile technology, and CRM platforms.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated integrity and commitment to high ethical and professional standards.
  • 1-2 years of healthcare, DME, B2B, or pharmaceutical sales experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% for corporate meetings, training programs, and field ride-alongs.
Employment Requirements:
  • Complete all required online, classroom, and field-training programs within the first two weeks of employment.
  • Successfully complete Sales and Clinical/Compliance Training requirements.
