ROLE HIGHLIGHTS

The Business Development Representative (covering OR, WA, and Northern CA) is responsible for driving profitable sales growth and expanding business relationships within assigned territories and accounts, which may evolve over time. This role focuses approximately 80% of its time on engaging with small to midsize businesses and prospects through outbound calls, virtual meetings, product presentations, trade shows, and local industry events to generate new opportunities. Additional responsibilities include tracking and reporting sales activities, nurturing leads, executing sales and marketing campaigns, and preparing quotes and proposals. The role works closely with the Vice President of Business Development and Regional Account Executives to ensure alignment with company strategies and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the promotional products and/or apparel industry, with a successful track record in sales roles.
  • Employ a forward-thinking, data-driven approach to driving sales within small to midsize customer markets.
  • Conduct sales calls with key contacts to present and quote products, explain decoration details, and promote Vantage Apparel’s brands and services.
  • Quickly identify opportunities, offer tailored solutions, and resolve conflicts at all levels within promotional product distributor companies.
  • Proactively nurture and grow relationships with existing customers while identifying and developing new prospects.
  • Follow up regularly with customers on quotes, opportunities, large orders (both new and repeat), and service challenges to maintain frequent contact.
  • Consistently meet and exceed KPI standards to achieve sales goals.
  • Work independently to achieve objectives while collaborating effectively with virtual teams to support company and customer goals.
  • Demonstrate creativity, positivity, and a proven ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts successfully.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with people at all levels within and outside the organization to support larger goals and objectives.
  • The ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High motivation, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude, and teamwork with customers, peers, and management.
  • Knowledge of the promotional products industry, including its business model, pricing structures, key companies, and professionals, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of apparel or decorated apparel, especially Vantage Apparel products, is a plus.
  • Understanding of the assigned geographical territory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate creative solutions with confidence, ease, and clarity.
  • Must have ongoing, reliable access to independent transportation.

Education and/or Experience & Computer Skills

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Business Development or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in sales.

Computer Skills

Demonstrated high proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
