The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a crucial role as the bridge between Operations, Marketing and Sales within Best Roofing. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the BDR's primary objective is to assist the BDM to secure new clients, maintain existing relationships, and facilitate effective communication between Operations and the Client. The focus will be on positioning Best Roofing as the premier source for commercial roofing services in Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and expanding Counties.
Core Focus:
The BDR will be instrumental in fostering collaboration between Operations, Marketing and Sales to enhance brand visibility and generate leads. The role involves close coordination with the sales team, active participation in strategic marketing planning, and engagement with existing and potential clients to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain Best Roofing as the top choice for commercial roofing services in the specified regions, expanding services to other areas when required and as Best Roofing continues to scale.
- Work closely with the sales and operations team to develop and nurture relationships with clients, utilizing various marketing tools and strategies, ultimately resulting in new lead generation.
- Partner with the sales teams to create effective client retention strategies and lead generation initiatives.
- Have exploratory conversations with existing or potential clients to gather accurate information, providing valuable input for Account Executives and Forensic Roof Specialists as needed.
- Provide frequent feedback to the BDM and sales teams by presenting a comprehensive Weekly Report. Utilize HubSpot and FCS Roofing Software for activity tracking and forecasting.
- Stay informed about competitors' actions, strategies, and market trends to keep your BDM and Best Roofing leadership apprised of the competitive landscape.
- Be flexible and adaptable to changing business needs, ensuring proactive responses, prompt completion of department projects and implementation of new initiatives.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create a calendar of events and business exposure tactics, ensuring a consistent flow of leads for both Service and Construction sales departments.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries, event follow-ups, address service complaints, and consistently maintain a high level of client communication and satisfaction.
- Work with the Marketing Coordinator to maintain and coordinate a Marketing Calendar, including association meetings, Roofing 101 classes, trade shows, email blasts, etc. Distribute and review the calendar monthly.
- Take on Marketing responsibilities including but not limited to external events calendar and social media post management.
- Update and upload client lists and business contact information to the BD database as needed.
- Manage the department’s company merchandise, in terms of ordering, inventory count and distribution.
- Responsible for packing, loading, transporting, and setting up marketing or business development materials and event equipment (i.e. tents, banners, boxes etc) for events.

- Success in this role will be measured by the achievement of key performance indicators, including increased brand recognition, lead generation, client retention rates, and the overall contribution to business growth. The BDR's effectiveness in collaborating with internal teams and providing valuable insights will also be critical indicators of success.
Skills/Experience:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the construction or roofing industry preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work as a team.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and social media platforms.
- Ability to analyze market trends and competitor actions and maintain flexibility and adaptability to evolving business needs.
- Organized and detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
- Previous experience in client-facing roles and managing customer relationships.
- Flexible working schedule as the role may demand varying hours outside of a traditional 9-5.
- Require a reliable means of transportation to and from work, company events and client meetings to various counties in the South Florida region.
- Physical requirement: routinely lifts, carries, and moves materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
