Job summary

NW Preferred Federal Credit Union in Portland, OR is seeking a dynamic Member Outreach role to grow relationships with prospective members and organizations. You will travel to national events, collaborate with marketing on campaigns, meet with prospective members, and partner with our commercial lending team to build new relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent work experience in consumer/commercial lending (2–4 years).
  • Confidence in public speaking and presenting.
  • Professional demeanor with an outgoing, friendly personality.
  • Strong organizational skills and self-starting attitude.
  • Ability to travel regularly, maintain a valid driver’s license, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfort using MS Office and modern communication tools.

Responsibilities

  • Contact and visit prospective members and organizations within our field of membership. Communications include: telephone, site visits, letters, emails, presentations, tradeshows and direct mail follow-up.
  • Act as the primary credit union participant at tradeshows and other industry events throughout the year. Ensures the Credit Union presents a consistent image to members and the general public.
  • Open new credit union memberships and cross sell additional products and services.
  • Promote and cross-sell products and services as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, lending regulations, and industry best practices in all lending activities.
  • Meet production/sales goals as may be required from time to time
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Credit Union products and services, special programs and applicable policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates with marketing department to develop new products and service proposals that meet the needs of our target audience.
  • Maintain a work schedule that is flexible in meeting the needs of those visited (i.e., early morning, lunch hour or evening meetings).
  • Makes effective use of funds budgeted for traveling and entertainment.
  • Manage inventory of SWAG, other advertising specialties and supplies.
  • Develop and give presentations to current and prospective members and management.
