ifm is seeking a Business Development - Sales Engineer to promote IFM solutions in the Mobile Equipment market. You will leverage business acumen, technical insight, and consultative selling to drive opportunities, build relationships with OEMs, and grow market share in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities include pipeline development, understanding controls architecture, negotiating ROI, and collaborating with Product Management on customer needs and tools.

Qualifications

• BS in an Engineering discipline preferred.
• Direct sales experience with mobile machinery.
• Proven sales record selling complex technology to OEMs.
• Strong verbal and written communication and proactive sales approach.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% with some international travel.

Job description

As a Business Development - Sales Engineer you will leverage your business acumen, technical, communication, and solution driven skills to target high potential opportunities in the Mobile Equipment market. The main objective of this position is to present and promote ifm as a solutions provider to the market and increase overall sales in the market segment. As a member of this fast paced, growth-oriented team, you will be a driving force behind overall industry sales, opportunity and project management, lead generation, and business relationships with new and existing customers.

Job Responsibilities

• Increase sales of ifm mobile machine solutions by implementing the ifm sales process and capitalizing on opportunities at high potential mobile equipment OEMs.
• Comprehensive understanding of vehicle & off-highway machinery control systems and sensors. Should be able to discuss with customers their controls architecture, network requirements, and various types of I/O devices used in this market.
• Build a robust pipeline of new customer opportunities within your market by researching, identifying, and approaching top quality prospects.
• Understand customers’ business models, controls architecture, machine / application requirements to determine the “best fit” ifm solution.
• Stay current on changes in control technologies and trends.
• Negotiate with customers to achieve a profitable and competitive balance between solutions and services offered and return on investment.
• Customize sales presentations based on audience background, customer needs and ifm solution areas of interest. Work closely with Product Management to help identify the needs of the customers and markets with respect to new products, sales tools, and required services.

Qualifications

• B.S. in an Engineering discipline preferred.
• Previous direct sales, new business development experience with the mobile machinery market.
• Proven sales record of developing new business and selling highly complex technology products ( @ OEM customers preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a proactive sales approach to meeting and exceeding goals.
• Ability to develop and execute strategies to gain access to large potential accounts and win business.
• Excellent influence and persuasion skills via consultative sales strategies.
• Maximum travel up to 30% per year with occasional international travel.
