Job Description

The (Sr.) Business Development role drives and supports sales efforts in a designated territory by implementing sales and marketing strategies for ProBio’s world‑class discovery services. The Sales Manager uses scientific knowledge and business acumen to develop and deliver profitable initiatives and build strong sales relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and coordinate opportunity assessment, financial justification, due diligence, transaction design, contract negotiation, and completion of discovery deals covering antibodies and cell & gene therapies.
  • Create and execute programs for new prospective clients to increase awareness of ProBio’s service offerings and highlight key differentiators from competitors.
  • Serve clients with a consultative mindset, applying strong scientific knowledge to build and uphold client trust.
  • Provide insights into scientific requirements for the transaction process and collaborate with internal stakeholders to prepare project designs and proposals.
  • Understand customer research applications and match ProBio services and products to align with specific project requirements.
  • Stay current on customer news, pipeline development, funding status, industry news, trends, regulatory guidelines, and key technologies to serve as a consultant.
  • Participate in all internal trainings on discovery services and technologies, and provide mentorship and coaching to new team members as needed.
  • Work with the Head of Discovery Sales (HDS) to develop and implement territory sales strategies and tactics for products, services, new markets, and new applications.
  • Collaborate with the HDS and technical account managers (TAM) to ensure all possible actions are taken to secure business in a competitive environment.
  • Share market knowledge with HDS, Sales, TAM, and Marketing teams to drive business expansion.
  • Build and expand a business reference network to generate new business opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in scientific disciplines, preferably life science or experience in pre‑clinical or discovery CDMO.
  • Relevant sales experience of about 2+ years with strong technical and professional expertise.
  • Good knowledge of biopharmaceutical discovery and CDMO markets and the broader biotech industry.
  • Ability to work in international and multicultural environments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, challenging environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
  • Proven track record of meeting and surpassing sales goals.
  • Ability to accurately forecast sales within the territory on a weekly basis.
  • Strong team player qualities and excellent analytical and time‑management skills.
