Job Overview

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a strategic sales and market leader responsible for driving new business within systems and software engineering segments. The role focuses on growth strategy within specific verticals, collaborating with account managers, cultivating relationships with clients, and partnering with internal leaders to ensure a consistent approach for prospective customers. Success requires a goal-oriented 'hunter' with proven success in engineering services, accountable for revenue growth and new business development with large, national accounts.

Responsibilities
  • Identify new opportunities within target accounts aligned to strategic focus.
  • Provide expertise by understanding the competitive landscape across industries such as aerospace & defense, transportation, consumer & industrial, utilities & construction.
  • Utilize consultative selling techniques to increase deal size and move deals up the value chain.
  • Achieve growth by expanding current relationships and winning new accounts.
  • Navigate sales processes including RFXs, negotiations, and presentations with strong business acumen.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers and executive sponsors.
  • Manage account plans, perform root cause analysis, and address performance gaps.
  • Support account expansion by providing industry-specific expertise.
  • Coordinate with legal, marketing, finance, and other departments for account setup and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain a strong alliance with Delivery Operations for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills such as relationship building, agility, and organizational command.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 10 years of sales/business development experience with Fortune 100/500 clients.
  • At least 5 years of sales experience offering technical services, with success in technical project or talent-based opportunities.
  • Experience selling engineering solutions; systems and software engineering experience is preferred.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, capable of engaging with executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to diagnose customer needs and align solutions accordingly.
  • Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce; ability to document client intelligence.
  • Willingness to travel regionally up to 50%.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience managing Fortune 100/500 customer portfolios.
  • Industry experience in aerospace & defense, transportation, industrial, utilities & construction.
  • Proven success in engineering services revenue generation.
Compensation and Benefits

The pay range is $150,000 - $180,000 per year, including benefits such as medical/dental insurance, HSA, life/disability insurance, 401(k) match, paid holidays, PTO, consumer discounts, and flexible spending accounts.

Work Environment and Application Details

This is a fully remote position, with an application deadline of May 31, 2025.
