Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electric utility tariffs, retail electric product structures, PPAs, VPPAs, and sustainability solutions.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive market.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize CRM tools for lead management.

  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and build business relationships.
  • Stay informed on competitors’ products, pricing, and strategies to position offerings effectively.
  • Utilize CRM tools for lead management, deal tracking, and sales reporting.
  • Negotiate and close deals within prescribed timelines while ensuring all contracts and documentation are properly executed.
  • Manage multiple broker relationships to achieve and maintain an acceptable win rate percentage.
  • Train and support brokers on products, services, and value propositions.

Primary Services is seeking a Business Development Manager to support a leading company in the energy industry. This role is responsible for achieving sales quotas, maintaining strong broker relationships, and driving growth through competitive electricity and renewable product offerings. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of deregulated electricity markets, a track record of exceeding sales targets, and the ability to develop strategic business opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve sales quotas while meeting established gross and net margin requirements and MWh volume targets.
  • Sell competitive electric commodities and renewable/sustainability products through designated indirect channels.
  • Prospect, identify, and generate new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and referrals.
  • Conduct research to understand potential customers’ needs and tailor sales strategies accordingly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Deliver effective sales presentations highlighting the features and value of retail energy products and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and build business relationships.
  • Stay informed on competitors’ products, pricing, and strategies to position offerings effectively.
  • Utilize CRM tools for lead management, deal tracking, and sales reporting.

  • Knowledge of electric utility tariffs, retail electric product structures, PPAs, VPPAs, and sustainability solutions.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive market.
  • Strong negotiation and organizational skills with a meticulous approach to sales processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convert leads into sales.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Deep understanding of energy sustainability trends, ESG initiatives, and renewable energy development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.
  • Previous experience in energy markets, renewable energy development, or energy consulting is preferred.
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and financial credit check.
