TE Connectivity, Energy Division is currently seeking an experienced sales professional to lead business development efforts for our Wildlife and Asset Protection (WAP) solutions. The WAP portfolio targets utility (substation and overhead line), electrical equipment OEMs, and industrial verticals such as rail, wind, data centers, oil, power, and gas networks.

This position will be based in the USA, servicing our Western region and Canada. The individual will work as part of our Americas Business Development/Sales team, closely linked to regional project managers. The role involves developing revenue for WAP solutions, providing clearance reduction insulation products and wildlife protection solutions. Customer interaction and technical field visits will be significant, with an emphasis on problem identification, solution definition, and opportunity conversion.

KEY KPIs:

  • Total WAP revenue generated for the region
  • Total pipeline 2.5x revenue target (defined in SFDC)
  • Number of customer visits

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Brand Building: Initiatives for brand awareness, recall, and recognition within target market segments. Educate and train sales and channel partners for product promotion. Attend industry seminars and exhibitions.
  • Market Segmentation: Focus on utility and OEM segments.
  • Develop Partnerships and Customer Relationships: Engage with utilities, industrial vertical specialists, electrical contractors, and manufacturer reps.
  • Customer Takeoffs: Present value propositions, visual technical proposals with BOM, and conduct customer demos and displays.
  • Outage Monitoring and Competition Tracking
  • Coordination: Collaborate with regional product management, engineering, and planning teams.
  • Market Sizing and Forecasting
  • New Product Development: Assist PM and engineering in tracking emerging needs and participate in new product launches.
Qualifications:

Mandatory: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business (or equivalent experience).

Preferred: Strong knowledge of substation and overhead distribution business, 8+ years in sales/technical marketing in energy or related industries, experience with energy components and materials, willingness to travel 50%.

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive salary ($138,700–$208,000), incentives, and benefits including health insurance, 401(k), disability, life insurance, employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, and voluntary benefits.

Fuquay-Varina, NC, US, with 50-75% travel requirement.
