Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to lead opportunities in the Structural Materials space. You will drive business model development, lead negotiations, and shape external partnerships across global markets.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • 10+ years commercial experience in the commercialization of engineered plastics & composites.
  • Broad market development capability with leadership in new business spaces.

  • Business model design experience, including technology licensing models.
  • Creative, unconstrained clear thinker.

Role overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking Business Development Manager to lead the development and execution of opportunities in the Structural Materials space for ExxonMobil. This role combines deep domain expertise, innovation leadership, and operational excellence to develop new business model opportunities and relationships with potential customers.

What you will do
  • Develop and build the business models necessary to drive success in the Carbon-rich Products space. Carbon-rich Products includes all products in the carbon value chain.
  • Execute complex agreements from inception to conclusion and advise on complex global issues
  • Design key elements of complex agreements to manage commercial / geopolitical / regulatory and other risks while maximizing value
  • Lead high value / complex / multi-party negotiations with counterparties and Governments as appropriate
  • Lead alignment of internal stakeholders to define corporate external positions to maximize value
  • Create and execute complex external influence plans and internal persuasive narratives to support strategy implementation within specific tasks
  • Develop key external networks and build appropriate relationships to identify value opportunities
About you

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field
  • 10+ years commercial experience in the commercialization of engineered plastics & composites
  • Broad market development capability with leadership experience in developing and / or executing in new business spaces
  • Trained in research competencies
  • Business model design experience, including technology licensing models
  • Creative, unconstrained clear thinker
  • Motivating and inspiring, passionate about creating new opportunities
  • A recognized business entrepreneur – able to see business value in new concepts outside of the base businesses comfort zone, translates new ideas into a clear vision, develop a compelling narrative to explains new areas of competitive advantage and value capture
  • Exudes courage of conviction
  • Comfortable developing relationships with atypical business partners and counter parties
  • Loves new technology, but is more excited by new businesses, markets and the possibility of deploying new technologies to grow the business
