Firetrace International, part of Halma plc, is seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to drive growth in global energy and emerging markets from an Arizona base. You will build strategic accounts, cultivate partnerships, and convert opportunities across renewable energy, energy storage, and critical infrastructure.

The role requires entrepreneurial drive, strong relationship skills, and the ability to travel to client sites and partners.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of successful business development or strategic sales in energy, industrial, or mission-critical markets.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to prospect, build a qualified pipeline, and convert opportunities into revenue.
• Experience engaging OEMs, utilities, EPCs, developers, integrators, distributors, or other energy customers.

Responsibilities

• Open new accounts, cultivate strategic partnerships, build and convert a qualified pipeline, and expand adoption of Firetrace solutions across OEMs, utilities, developers, EPCs, integrators and asset owners/operators.
• Penetrate emerging markets with account-specific strategies and translate opportunities into commercial initiatives.
• Establish and strengthen relationships with OEMs, utilities, developers, EPCs, distributors, integrators and other industry partners.
• Communicate the technical and commercial value of Firetrace solutions, emphasizing safety, asset protection, and operational resilience.
• Coordinate cross-functional resources to advance opportunities from engagement to commercial close.

As the Business Development Manager – Global Energy & Emerging Markets will identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities across clean energy and adjacent high-growth markets. This is a customer-facing, growth-oriented role for a proactive business developer who combines strategic thinking, technical curiosity, relationship-building, and commercial execution.

What You Will Achieve

The successful candidate will open new accounts, cultivate strategic partnerships, build and convert a qualified pipeline, and expand the adoption of Firetrace solutions across OEMs, utilities, developers, EPCs, integrators, and asset owners/operators.

• Business Development & Revenue Growth—identify, pursue, and secure new customers, strategic accounts, and revenue-generating opportunities.
• Penetrate Emerging Markets—develop account-specific strategies to penetrate new markets, applications and customer segments. Identify emerging market trends and translate opportunities into actionable commercial initiatives.
• Strategic Accounts & Partnerships—establish and strengthen relationships with OEMs, utilities, developers, EPCs, distributors, integrators and other industry partners
• Consultative & Technical Selling—communicate the technical and commercial value of Firetrace solutions, emphasizing the safety, asset protection, risk reduction and operational resilience.
• Commercial Execution & Collaboration—coordinate cross-functional resources to advance opportunities from initial engagement through commercial close.

What You Bring

• 2+ years of successful business development, strategic sales, or related commercial experience in energy, industrial, clean technology, fire protection or mission-critical markets
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field or equivalent relevant experience.
• Demonstrated success developing new customers, markets, strategic accounts, or commercial partnerships.
• Proven ability to prospect, build a qualified pipeline, navigate complex sales cycles, and convert opportunities into revenue.
• Experience engaging OEMs, utilities, EPCs, developers, integrators, distributors, or other industrial or energy customers.
• Strong consultative selling, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
• Commercial acumen and ability to communicate technical solutions in terms of customer value and business outcomes.
• Proficiency with CRM systems, pipeline management, forecasting, and account planning.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate across functions, and travel as required.
• Successful candidate must possess unrestricted work authorization, but may live/work in any US location, provided they are near a major airport for easy travel accessibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in renewable energy, wind, battery energy storage systems (BESS), electrification, data centers, power generation, or fire protection.
• Established industry relationships within relevant energy or industrial markets.
• Experience developing distributor or channel partnerships and introducing solutions into new markets.
