Job Overview

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a performance-driven on-premise sales professional focused on engaging customers and consumers to drive brand visibility and sales for Diageo’s portfolio, with a focus on whiskey, agave, and other leading brands.

The role requires expertise in influencer marketing, digital engagement, and strategic partnerships to enhance brand equity, awareness, and consumer adoption. The BDM will leverage supplier and internal assets to shape cross-brand partnerships and develop innovative strategies to keep Diageo’s brands relevant and connected with consumers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build strong relationships with on-premise accounts to increase Diageo visibility.
  • Lead activations, menu placements, staff trainings, and brand initiatives.
  • Manage influencer collaborations and event budgets.
  • Analyze sales trends and identify growth opportunities.
  • Maintain an active digital presence to support brand engagement.
  • Act as a strategic consultant within assigned accounts to grow market share and business performance, collaborating with the sales team.
  • Support Martignetti’s digital growth via personal work on Instagram.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and influencer marketing.
  • Experience in event planning and execution for trade and consumer audiences.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with distributor sales teams to enhance brand presence and meet sales targets.
  • Strong organizational skills, including managing budgets and demonstrating ROI.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, customer needs, and brand reception.
  • Media training or experience in brand communications is a plus.
Education, Training, and Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years in beverage/alcohol sales, marketing, or brand roles.
  • Experience in digital media, events, and influencer partnerships.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and data analysis skills.
  • Valid MA driver’s license required.
  • Experience managing promotional budgets and social media content preferred.
Physical Demands and Environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel frequently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds of promotional materials and event setups.
  • Extended periods of standing during activations and events.
  • Work in various environments, including offices, bars, restaurants, and event spaces.
  • Travel and exposure to weather conditions are required.
