Business Development Manager, Builder Accounts

As a Single Family Business Development Manager for our Moen brand, you will develop market strategies targeting national and regional single-family home builders to expand market share in Southern California. You will collaborate with other territory managers and support wholesalers within the market.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in outside sales and large account management, be highly autonomous, and willing to travel approximately 1-3 nights per month. A background in contract negotiation and P&L management is also desirable.

This remote role is based in the Los Angeles area. We provide a company car, laptop, and cell phone. The salary range is approximately $115,000 - $140,000 base, with bonus opportunities based on territory performance. The territory includes Southern California, including Paso Robles, Bakersfield, Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Achieve and contribute to the annual sales plan.
  2. Collaborate with the Regional Manager to develop targeted strategies for the single-family market.
  3. Expand relationships and increase market share with top builders.
  4. Mentor and support Territory Managers in developing BDM skills.
  5. Partner with Territory Managers to set and meet annual targets.
  6. Build and maintain professional relationships with strategic builders.
  7. Maximize the use of Moen product portfolio with builders.
  8. Drive specifications for national accounts at the regional level.
  9. Leverage technology and process improvements to enhance field effectiveness.
  10. Support the Regional Manager in developing the regional support network.
  11. Create and present fact-based business proposals to decision-makers.
  12. Manage budgets to maintain and grow business.
  13. Monitor market trends, consumer and trade attitudes, and competitive practices.
  14. Coordinate resources to maximize sales opportunities with strategic customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of outside sales experience
  • Contract negotiation skills with key accounts
  • Understanding of marketing and product development environments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Market analysis and strategic response skills
  • Flexibility to travel and work non-standard hours

Preferred Qualifications:
