The SilMan Sales Team

A complete team of in-house professionals will support your efforts, including:

  • Engineering: Collaborate with our estimating, design, and applications team to develop winning proposals.
  • Marketing: Work closely with marketing to build focused content and campaigns.
  • Project Management: Project managers are closely involved in final closing to ensure efficient hand-off and execution.
  • Sales: The business development team meets regularly to collaborate, strategize, discuss leads, and continually improve materials and processes to identify opportunities and improve the sales cycle.

SilMan in the Marketplace: Depth and Breadth

SilMan Industries is a general contractor licensed in 40+ states. Our team has built a deep portfolio of market-leading distribution and manufacturing clients and public agencies.

As our West Coast BDM, you will expand on SilMan's success by identifying opportunities and preparing winning proposals for projects like these: Air Cargo Handling Systems, Baggage Handling, Industrial Infrastructure, Food and Beverage Facilities and Systems, Electrical Systems, and Decommission/Dismantle.

Service Area and Residence

The BDM is a resident of the Seattle/Tacoma area or lives along the Seattle-Portland corridor since the SilMan Sales Team regularly meets in person.

The BDM will be responsible for opportunities in the Western states.

What does the Business Development Manager do?

The Construction Business Development Manager is responsible for the outreach, development, qualification, and management of strategic client partnerships for SilMan’s industrial construction division.

The BDM is also responsible for sourcing new sales opportunities through existing relationships and contacts, conducting market research, and developing new relationships and contacts. This role regularly communicates and collaborates with other business development, sales, marketing, and estimating team members to pursue leads and move them through the sales cycle.

This individual understands and embraces SilMan’s culture, supporting the company’s policies, procedures, and vision in a confidential and professional manner.

Here are some of the responsibilities of this role:

As a vital member of the "Biz Dev" Team, the BDM effectively executes tasks such as:

  • Develop, qualify, and manage strategic client relationships and sales opportunities.
  • Maintain current client relationships and identify areas for potential new clients.
  • Engage with business development leaders and team members individually and in group settings.
  • Raise awareness by participating in industry groups and collaborative content with marketing
  • Build and maintain strategic partner relationships to support the business development and sales processes.
  • Research existing offerings and the latest industry trends to identify new opportunities.
  • Work with Sales Team, Engineers, and Estimators to produce client proposals and change orders.
  • Report to, share, and collaborate with Leaders and the Sales Team.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • Proven track record of success in B2B sales, with a minimum of ten years of experience in the industrial construction industry.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 50% as needed
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar)
  • Familiarity with Project Management Software (Procore or similar)

Compensation

SilMan’s compensation packages are customized based on the candidate’s experience, geographic location, and current market considerations. Our competitive base salary ranges are researched and benchmarked against similar companies in the industry. The anticipated compensation range for this position is $120,000 - $200,000. The base salary offer will depend on various factors, including experience and other job-related skills.

The anticipated compensation package includes:

  • Commission Pay
  • Discretionary Annual Bonus

  • Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA): SilMan contributes $1,200 per year towards you and your eligible dependents to improve your overall well-being or lifestyle in physical, financial, or emotional wellness.
  • Company-sponsored 401(k): SilMan contributes 3% to a 401k plan, regardless of whether the employee contributes.
