Job summary

Gray West Construction is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in Industrial and Manufacturing markets. The role focuses on building new relationships, nurturing existing clients, and expanding in expanding markets with support from marketing.

The position reports to the COO, offers a hybrid work option from Orange County, and involves travel to meet clients and attend trade shows. A strong track record in construction sales is required.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of prospecting, pursuing and securing repeat opportunities with national customers.

Job description

Gray West Construction, a leading General Contractor delivering successful commercial and industrial projects throughout the Western United States for over 30 years is currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support the continued strategic growth in our developing markets.

This position will operate out of Gray West’s Orange County offices, though may work via a hybrid model allowing the right candidate to work from a remote location. The position will report to the Chief Operating Officer.

Their primary focus will be to build relationships that will secure new business opportunities in the Industrial and Manufacturing markets, improve the company’s market overall position, and help achieve financial growth. They must manage existing clients to ensure that they are satisfied, and develop new customer relationships through networking, social media, attending industry events and conferences. They are responsible for identifying and developing a network of prospects. Collaborate with market Leaders and Marketing to exponentially increase sales opportunities in expanding markets.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must have 5-10 years’ experience in securing, building and nurturing relationships in the Industrial/ Commercial construction industry. Candidate must be able to demonstrate successful track recording of prospecting, pursuing and securing repeat opportunities with national customers. Will play an essential role in developing and maintaining the sales pipeline.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with management in developing, implementing, and adhering to strategic sales plan to achieve growth goals.
• Assists in marketing and business development plan for assigned market areas of responsibility.
• Develops professional relationships with new and existing customers, industry representatives and economic development representatives.
• Ensures that the estimating opportunity pipeline remains full. Manage process from initial contact to proposal.
• Works with marketing and estimating to help prepare qualification packages and proposals.
• Assists in the preparation and presentation of proposals for new and existing projects.
• Assists in project support as requested by project teams.
• Utilize the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Platform.
• Represents Company at trade shows and trade association meetings.
• Delivers sales presentations to key customers in coordination with business unit managers.
• Meets with key customers maintaining relationships, negotiating, and closing deals.
• Assists other departments within organization regarding business development issues.
• Prepares regular sales report demonstrating sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed customer base expansion.
• Overnight travel may be required.

Compensation:

• Compensation and Benefits: Base Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000
• Recurring incentives/ commissions paid bi-annually.
