Job summary

Brooklyn Gallery in Brooklyn seeks a Business Development & Art Sales Associate to drive the commercial side of the gallery. This is a commission-based, part-time role with growth opportunities.

You will identify buyers, build relationships with interior designers, architects, hotels, and corporate clients, and manage a CRM with leads and inquiries. Key responsibilities include outreach to qualified prospects, sending catalogs and pricing, scheduling appointments, and developing new B2B accounts

Qualifications

  • Experience in sales, business development, luxury retail, hospitality, interior design, real estate, art sales or client relations.
  • Part-time employment with a flexible schedule; immediate start.
  • Commission-based compensation; startup/growth stage.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential buyers and commercial clients.
  • Make outbound calls and emails to qualified prospects.
  • Build relationships with interior designers, art consultants, architects, hotels, restaurants, developers, hospitality groups, offices, retailers and other businesses purchasing art.
  • Identify and engage prospective private collectors.
  • Follow up with gallery visitors and sales inquiries.
  • Maintain an organized CRM of prospects and conversations.
  • Send artwork information, catalogs and pricing to interested buyers.
  • Schedule gallery appointments with qualified prospects.
  • Develop new B2B accounts and long-term client relationships.
  • Collaborate with Gallery Director to identify available artworks and buyers.

Young Contemporary Art Gallery |Brooklyn. Commission-Based | Flexible / Part-Time | Growth Opportunity. . A young storefront contemporary art gallery in Greenpoint, Brooklyn is seeking an entrepreneurial Business Development & Art Sales Associate to help build the commercial side of the gallery.. . We have the gallery. We have the artists. We have the exhibitions and artwork.. We need buyers.. . This is a sales and business-development position. Your primary responsibility will be identifying potential buyers, developing relationships, generating qualified leads, and ultimately helping sell artwork.

What You’ll Do
  • Research and identify potential art buyers and commercial clients.
  • Make outbound calls and emails to qualified prospects.
  • Build relationships with interior designers, art consultants, architects, hotels, restaurants, developers, hospitality groups, offices, retailers and other businesses purchasing art.
  • Identify and develop prospective private collectors.
  • Follow up with qualified gallery visitors and sales inquiries.
  • Maintain an organized database/CRM of prospects and conversations.
  • Send artwork information, catalogs and pricing to interested buyers.
  • Schedule gallery appointments with qualified prospects.
  • Consistently follow up with leads.
  • Develop new B2B accounts and long-term client relationships.
  • Work directly with the Gallery Director to understand available artwork and identify appropriate buyers.
What This Role Is NOT

This is not a curatorial position.

You will not be responsible for:

  • Finding or recruiting artists.
  • Reviewing artist portfolios.
  • Selecting artwork.
  • Curating exhibitions.
  • Developing exhibition concepts.
  • Managing artist submissions.
  • Programming the gallery.

  • Experience in sales, business development, luxury retail, hospitality, interior design, real estate, art sales or client relations is especially valuable.
Compensation

This is an early-stage, commission-based opportunity. The gallery is currently in its startup/growth stage and cannot offer a traditional salary at this time. Compensation is tied directly to sales and accounts generated by the associate, with uncapped commission potential. We are looking for someone who understands the nature of joining a young business early and is interested in helping build its commercial operation. As the gallery grows and reaches sustainable revenue and/or secures additional financing, there may be an opportunity for this role to develop into a regular paid position with expanded responsibility.

About the Gallery

We are a young, independent storefront contemporary art gallery in Brooklyn, presenting photography and contemporary artwork through exhibitions, artist programming and public events.. We have already established the physical gallery, exhibition program and growing roster of artists. Our next priority is building a stronger collector base and developing relationships with the commercial, hospitality and design industries.
