Business Development Manager - Automotive Simulation

Salary negotiable dependent on experience.

Our client delivers cutting-edge simulation technology to automotive manufacturers, OEMs, and ADAS developers. Their high-fidelity simulation solutions support vehicle development, testing, and validation, helping clients reduce costs, improve safety, and accelerate innovation.

We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to drive sales of simulation solutions across North America. This role requires a strategic salesperson with an understanding of the automotive industry sales cycle, who has a track record in technical sales within automotive engineering, vehicle development, software, ADAS or similar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to expand presence within OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and ADAS developers.
  • Identify, engage, and develop relationships with key decision-makers within engineering, R&D, and procurement teams.
  • Present and demonstrate simulation technology, articulating their value proposition in vehicle development, validation, and virtual testing.
  • Drive the full sales cycle, from lead generation and proposal development to contract negotiation and deal closure.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure client requirements are fully understood and solutions are tailored accordingly.
  • Represent at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to generate leads and market awareness.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, or account management within automotive engineering, simulation, or software industries.
  • Established network, or ability to develop a network, within OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and ADAS developers.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineering teams and C suite decision-makers.
  • Experience managing a high-value, consultative sales cycle.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel across North America for client meetings and industry events.

Desirable but not essential

  • Knowledge of vehicle simulation, testing, and validation
  • Background in automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, or simulation technology.
  • Experience working with vehicle dynamics, ADAS validation, or virtual prototyping solutions.
  • Familiarity with automotive development tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, rFpro, CarMaker, dSPACE, or VI-grade).
