Ajax Building Company, part of STO Building Group, seeks a relationship-driven Project Development Manager to grow our presence and project pipeline across Jacksonville and the surrounding Northeast Florida region.

The role will identify opportunities, build trusted client relationships, lead pursuit strategy through RFQ/RFP responses and interviews, and collaborate with leadership to drive regional growth and outcomes.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of construction-industry experience with focus on development, business development, sales, marketing, preconstruction, or operations.
• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, construction management, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Knowledge of public-sector and institutional construction markets is preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction concepts, project delivery methods, and pursuit practices.
• Proven ability to build relationships, develop networks, and advance opportunities.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple pursuits.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; Salesforce or other CRM experience preferred.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed and attend evening/weekend events.

• Maintain accurate client, opportunity, pursuit, and pipeline data in Salesforce.
• Represent Ajax through associations, conferences, and market-facing activities.
• Promote a collaborative, team-oriented environment and uphold quality commitments.

SUMMARY

Ajax Building Company, part of STO Building Group, is seeking a relationship-driven Project Development Manager to grow our presence and project pipeline across Jacksonville and the surrounding Northeast Florida region.

This role will identify and pursue new opportunities, build trusted relationships with public and institutional clients and industry partners, and lead pursuit strategy through RFQ/RFP responses and interviews. The ideal candidate combines construction-industry knowledge, market insight, and strong communication skills to help Ajax win high-quality work and build lasting client partnerships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• * Research Jacksonville and Northeast Florida markets to identify target clients, emerging opportunities, and industry trends


• Build and manage a strong pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship development


• Develop trusted relationships with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and industry partners


• Partner with senior leadership to establish regional growth strategies, goals, and pursuit priorities


• Review and qualify RFQs, RFPs, and other opportunities, contributing to informed go/no-go decisions


• Coordinate pursuit strategy, proposals, presentations, and interviews with marketing, preconstruction, operations, and leadership teams


• Maintain accurate client, opportunity, pursuit, and pipeline information in Salesforce


• Represent Ajax through professional associations, civic organizations, conferences, networking events, and other market-facing activities


• Promote a collaborative, team-oriented environment and uphold Ajax's commitment to quality

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of construction-industry experience, preferably including project development, business development, sales, marketing, preconstruction, or operations


• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, construction management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered


• Knowledge of public-sector and institutional construction markets preferred


• Strong understanding of construction concepts, project delivery methods, and pursuit practices


• Demonstrated ability to build relationships, develop professional networks, and advance business opportunities


• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, listening, and interpersonal skills


• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; Salesforce or other CRM experience preferred


• Ability to travel as needed and periodically attend evening and weekend events
