The Business Development Manager is responsible for expanding the organization’s anesthesia staffing services nationwide, with a primary focus on generating new locum tenens contracts and a secondary focus on opportunistic permanent placement opportunities. This role leads outreach, proposal development, and contract negotiations for prospective accounts, while collaborating with recruiters, operations, and the Marketing team to ensure smooth onboarding, effective lead generation, and service delivery. The Business Development Manager develops and maintains long‑term relationships with hospitals, surgery centers, and health systems to drive sustainable revenue growth and represents the company at industry events and professional forums. This position reports directly to the VP Strategy & General Manager, Staffing Solutions.
Education & Qualifications: Education — Bachelor’s degree in business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a related field (master’s preferred).
Licensure & Certifications: N/A
Previous Experience: Minimum five (5) years of healthcare sales or staffing experience (locum tenens or anesthesia strongly preferred). Demonstrated success in generating new business, managing complex sales cycles, and negotiating contracts. Knowledge of healthcare provider organizations (hospitals, surgery centers, health systems) and staffing or anesthesia services strongly preferred.

Strong business and financial acumen with ability to think critically and strategically. Dynamic organizational development capabilities with effective analytical and negotiation skills. Success in evaluating new business models, market initiatives and opportunities for expansion. Ability to analyze data to perform quantitative analyses to help facilitate decision‑making. Ability to remain flexible and work effectively under pressure. Ability to engage with staff at all levels of the organization and exercise sound judgment.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite; ability to manage data and reporting effectively. Specifically Excel and PowerPoint; and use of a laptop and mobile device is required.
