Job summary

Kokosing is seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to expand our presence in the Water, Federal and Industrial & Power markets. Based in Annapolis Junction, MD, you will lead development of plans, nurture client relationships, and coordinate with marketing, estimating and operations to win proposals.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in the target industry, strong Maryland/DC/Virginia network, and a BS in engineering or construction management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a target industry, with 15+ years preferred.
• Established relationships within Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia and surrounding areas.
• BS in engineering, construction, construction management or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).

Responsibilities

• Excel in a collaborative, team environment where every voice matters.
• Lead development of a Business Development Plan for responsible areas.
• Services existing client base, maintaining relationships.
• Identifies potential clients by researching and building relationships with new clients.
• Maintain CRM data including leads, opportunities, contacts, companies, and competitors.
• Sets up meetings between client decision-makers and the company’s practice leaders.
• Lead the development of proposals including creation of the proposal approach, development of the proposal schedule, assignment of duties, and management of production.
• Attend industry events to expand network and promote Kokosing.
• Participate in key industry groups at local, state, and national levels.
