Our client is a leading provider of energy efficiency and solar solutions, specializing in comprehensive energy audits, design, and turnkey project implementation for K-12 schools, city governments, higher education, and commercial & industrial (C&I) clients. They are seeking a remote Business Development Executive to spearhead growth in the Louisiana market.

Job Title: Business Development Executive – (Remote, Louisiana Market)

Job Summary: Business Development Executive (BDE) will be responsible for generating and managing new business opportunities in Louisiana, focusing on energy efficiency, lighting, HVAC, controls, and C&I solar projects.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering background, a strong network in K-12 and municipal sectors, and a proven track record in business development. This is a fully remote role with the potential to establish a physical presence in Louisiana as the market grows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, pursue, and close $15M+ in annual project sales within Louisiana’s K-12, city government, higher education, and C&I markets.
  • Leverage an extensive network to build relationships with key decision-makers in target sectors.
  • Collaborate with the company’s energy engineer to develop tailored energy audits and performance contracting solutions.
  • Drive the full sales cycle, from lead generation to contract negotiation and project handoff.
  • Stay informed on Louisiana’s legislative changes and market trends to position the company as a market leader.
  • Provide regular updates on pipeline development, sales forecasts, and market insights.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to expand brand presence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or energy-related field preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of business development or sales experience in energy efficiency, lighting, HVAC, controls, or solar industries.
  • Established network within Louisiana’s K-12, city government, or higher education sectors is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to close $15M+ in annual sales, with a track record of exceeding targets.
  • Strong understanding of energy performance contracting and turnkey project delivery.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with a proactive, results-driven mindset.
  • Familiarity with Louisiana’s energy market.
