The Business Development Executive will be responsible for targeting prospect companies directly and through brokers and consultants to drive new absence sales. This individual will play a significant role in driving the growth of the absence product set with an innovative company that has been administering leave and ADA services since 2000.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an aggressive plan and strategy for lead and RFP generation and qualification.
- Strategically manage the sales process including requests for proposals (RFPs), contract negotiations and deal closings.
- Making presentations and leading the team in all aspects of finalist meeting execution, prep, delivery and follow-up.
- Understanding customer needs and aligning the best HR and employee experience with the AbsenceResources Ⓡ value proposition in a consultative way.
- Work with operations, implementation and service teams to ensure the best onboarding experience for customers.
- Develop relationships with direct prospects, brokers, consultants, and other distribution partners to further the AbsenceResources Ⓡ brand while creating market opportunities.
- Knowledge of the absence competitive landscape including technology solutions as well as key HRIS, Payroll, Time and Attendance; Ben Admin vendors.
- Perform pipeline tracking and sales process reporting.
- Collaborate with ComPsych’s business leaders, sales, and service teams to leverage the company’s reputation and relationships to grow the absence business.
- Work with account management team to renew customers.
- Travel as needed to key partner, customer and finalist meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience selling and/or servicing absence administration customers with deep knowledge of the customer absence needs, the marketplace and the consultants and brokers that operate in that space.
- Established list of key HR and/or benefit consultant contacts for immediate utilization.
- Proven track record having consistently exceeded goals and expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a complex sales process of prospecting, lead qualification, sales strategy development and relationship building.
- Analytical, organizational and planning skills for forecasting, pipeline tracking and reporting.
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills including video presentations; experience in market development and meeting with senior executives.
- Being a self-starter, goal oriented and having attention to detail.
- Understanding and the ability to use technology including the Microsoft office suite of products.
- Bachelor's degree required and a stable work history required.

- Ability to be present on camera during work-related trainings, meetings, and/or events.
- Must be able to sit or stand at a desk for prolonged periods while working on a computer.

- The salary range for this position is $100,000 – $120,000 USD plus commission potential. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, and scheduled hours.
