Job Description

We are looking for a Business Development Director to join our Advisory Growth group. As a Business Development Director, you will be responsible for:

  1. Owning the full sales cycle—from outreach and qualification to proposal and close—for new client acquisition.
  2. Engaging with C-suite executives—primarily CEOs and CFOs—at entrepreneurial to large-scale companies with $1 to $50+ billion in assets.
  3. Positioning our full suite of services, including audit, tax, valuation, advisory, and digital solutions.
  4. Leveraging internal experts and collaborating with service line leaders to create impactful proposals.
  5. Engaging with external centers of influence (e.g., bankers, attorneys, consultants) to generate warm referrals.
  6. Representing Citrin Cooperman at strategic events, webinars, and networking functions.
  7. Maintaining accurate pipeline and forecasting in Dynamics CRM.
  8. Collaborating with internal sales colleagues to improve sales strategies.
  9. Having over 10 years of senior-level success in B2B consultative sales, ideally in professional services such as accounting, consulting, ERP, advisory.
  10. Proven track record as a hunter with a strong personal network and experience selling to the C-suite.
  11. Being recognized as a trusted advisor with the ability to identify client pain points, craft compelling value propositions, and close complex deals.
  12. Being highly motivated by achievement, commissions, and opportunities to expand influence within a respected brand.
  13. Being self-motivated and team-oriented, excelling in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Experience negotiating proposals and closing high-value engagements in the midmarket.
  • Strong relationships in the Tri-State area with the ability to activate a referral network.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed for relationship-building and deal execution.
