Job summary

Telgian Engineering & Consulting (TEC) is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead growth of the company’s business development goals. You will leverage research and your network to identify opportunities and shape the company’s direction, collaborating with Marketing, Proposal and Regional Operations for near-term success and long-term strategy.

You will map opportunities, manage partner relationships, generate leads, and position TEC to win.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in professional service sales or business development.
• Proven track record of prospecting and closing new business.
• Hunter mentality with ability to build and qualify a pipeline.
• Customer-focused with strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Firm Leadership to define and execute TEC’s pursuit strategy.
• Map, identify, and develop opportunities, partnerships, and initiatives to drive revenue growth.
• Manage and grow the company-wide sales pipeline.
• Support Regional Leadership with go/no-go reviews and proposal guidance.
• Develop teaming partner relationships and lead bid processes.
• Position TEC’s capabilities with new clients through targeted messaging.
• Plan and attend industry tradeshows and conferences.

Job description

As the Director of Business Development at Telgian Engineering & Consulting (TEC) you will be responsible for the growth of business development goals of the company. We expect this candidate to leverage research and his/her existing network to identify and secure opportunities and help guide the overall direction of the company. You will collaborate with the Marketing, Proposal and Regional Operations teams to position TEC to drive near term success, while developing and implementing the TEC long-term strategy.

• Collaborate with Firm Leadership to define and execute TEC’s pursuit strategy
• Play a lead role in the mapping, identification, and development of opportunities, strategic partnerships, and strategic initiatives in the pursuit of revenue growth
• Manage and grow the company wide sales pipeline
• Support Regional Leadership with their Public pursuits through go/no-go reviews, partnership alignment and guidance through proposal development/submittal
• Manage and develop teaming partner relationships
• Generate leads and drive them through award
• Position TEC’s capabilities with new prospective customers through frequent interaction and targeted messaging
• Plan and attend industry tradeshows and conferences

Your Qualifications

Required

• 5+ years of relevant experience with professional service sales, business development, or consulting
• Proven and reference-able track record of successful prospecting of new business
• Comfortable with a ‘hunter’ type role, able to quickly build pipeline and qualify an opportunity
• A true team player and willing to step in and help where needed
• Customer focused and skilled at building partner relationships
• Excellent written, verbal and presenting skills
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Preferred

• Experience reviewing government RFQ/RFP/Contract documents
• 3+ years of Architect/Engineering industry experience
