Job Overview
We are looking for a proactive and organized Business Development Assistant to support our dynamic Business Development team in a fast-paced, growing startup in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. This role is crucial for assisting with administrative tasks, managing schedules, preparing documentation, and facilitating effective communication between our business development team and external clients as well as internal departments. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Manage daily administrative tasks for the Business Development team including scheduling meetings, organizing travel arrangements, and maintaining a filing system for important and confidential company documents.
- Document Preparation: Assist in the preparation and formatting of presentations, reports, and business correspondence that are essential for client meetings and internal communications.
- Communication Facilitation: Serve as a liaison between the Business Development team and other departments, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and queries.
- Meeting Coordination: Organize and coordinate logistics for client meetings and internal meetings, including setting up video/conference calls and preparing meeting agendas.
- Data Management: Help manage and update client information in CRM systems, ensuring all communications, transactions, and client information are accurately logged and easy to retrieve.
- Event Planning: Assist in the planning and execution of corporate events, trade shows, and conferences attended by the Business Development team.
- Research Support: Conduct preliminary market research under the direction of business development managers and compile data to help the team understand market trends and customer needs.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, with a particular emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with CRM software is highly desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or relevant field.
- Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within a sales or business development environment.
- Understanding of the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is a plus.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: $65,500 and $85,500 USD. Negotiable and based on experience, qualifications, and market rates for Germantown, Maryland.
- Work Schedule: Full-time
- Location: Fully Remote
