Job description

Business Development and Marketing Manager

Join to apply for the Business Development and Marketing Manager role at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates.

This position is based in Chicago (hybrid) and involves driving business growth and enhancing market presence for the Litigation practices across the Midwest and Texas regions. The role reports to the Associate Director (Chicago) and collaborates closely with the U.S. and global Business Development and Marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing marketing and business development initiatives, including client targeting and pursuit strategies.
  • Preparing pitches, capability statements, and presentations, working with partners and the BDM team.
  • Managing sales pipelines and client database profiling.
  • Supporting profile-raising activities such as speaking engagements, awards, and thought leadership.
  • Planning and executing client events and managing follow-up activities.
  • Enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring effective communication within the team.
  • Managing resources responsibly and ensuring compliance with firm policies.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience in law firm or professional services marketing, preferably with litigation background.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant software (e.g., MS Office, InDesign, InterAction).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
