A successful candidate will have a background and understanding of national security space missions and the Capture Process. The candidate will collaborate with a highly integrated team of technical professionals and cross-functional disciplines to achieve sales growth objectives. Responsibilities include designing campaigns to shape successful pursuits in critical mission areas, engaging with key external customers, and building customer relationships.

The position involves providing leadership to the capture team, ensuring the submission of winning proposals aligned with LM processes. The candidate may serve as both a proposal and capture manager for pursuits, including shaping follow-on and adjacent markets with resilient architectures and strategies. Responsibilities include leading the new business capture process—developing strategy, positioning to win, conducting competitive intelligence analysis, leading Gold Teams, Black Hats, and EPPs—and planning and scheduling proposal activities. Budget management for Marketing Assist (MA), Bid and Proposal (B&P), and Independent Research and Development (IRAD) is also required to ensure investments align with strategic growth. Additional duties include attending industry events, establishing industry partnerships, and collaborating with Engineering Leadership to support strategic growth. 1. Develop and execute a customer-focused strategic plan for both short and long-term growth.
  2. Identify and establish key industry partnerships to maximize new business opportunities.
  3. Participate actively in capture teams on key business pursuits.
  4. Collaborate with engineering leadership to create technology roadmaps and related IR&D and CR&D projects to develop discriminators for winning new business.
  5. Lead cross-business integration and partnership activities related to these customers.
  6. Shape and win new business focusing on the customer’s mission, value, and the competitive environment.
  7. Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, teammates, and internal stakeholders.

Key metrics for success include:

  • Building strong internal and external networks and teams.
  • Successfully identifying, shaping, and winning new business.
  • Developing and growing new business pipelines.
  • Effective management of budgetary resources.
  • Penetrating new markets successfully.
  • Achieving both long and short-term business objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Intelligence Community (IC) and/or DoD such as the US Space Force and US Air Force.
  • Experience working within the Space Security domain.
  • Experience developing strategies.
  • Experience leading large captures.
  • Stakeholder management experience.
  • Current TS/SCI clearance prior to start.

Desired Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years of business development experience within the IC, including the US Space Force and US Air Force.
  • Experience in developing short and long-term strategies.
  • Experience supporting multiple customers within IC and DoD.
  • Capture Management experience.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; US citizenship is required.
