Job summary

ABB is seeking an experienced accounting/finance leader to drive financial controls and reporting for the US ELIP distribution center network. You will benchmark KPIs, model financial performance, and guide senior management with insights and recommendations.

This hybrid role is based in Memphis, TN, with 20–30% travel. You will lead a finance team, ensure compliance, and partner with other functions to optimize processes and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in financial controlling, accounting, or business finance.
• Strong leadership experience managing and developing finance teams.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, reporting, cashflow, inventories, reconcilations, internal controls and business intelligence.
• Proficiency in Excel, data analysis tools, and financial systems (SAP or similar ERP systems).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and work with teams spread out geographically.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience with financial controls, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Your role and responsibilities:

ABB is searching for an experienced and motivated accounting / finance leader who will make a direct impact on the Distribution Center network for our Electrification Installation Products ("ELIP") business!

In this role, you will provide financial and accounting control and expertise to the US ELIP region. Key responsibilities will include benchmarking KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) while working with other finance professionals to understand the drivers of financial performance and identifying trends relevant to the finances of the distribution center network. Reporting to the USLATAM Region Controller, you will study business performance, including financial modelling to forecast the impacts and risks and recommend areas for continuous improvement.

This position is open to candidates able to work a hybrid schedule out of the Memphis, TN ELIP office, and an ability to travel 20-30%.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Developing and managing comprehensive business controls, financial reporting, and compliance frameworks across the DC network in US region. Analyzing financial data and key performance indicators to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, forecasts, and business case analysis for senior management.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support strategic planning and business decision-making. Driving process optimization and implementing best practices in financial operations. Communicating complex financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in ELIP Business. Leading and mentoring a finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Supporting preparation of relevant organization financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting and validating accuracy of financial data and business information and reports by performing reconciliation and review of exceptions. Optimizing performance to increase productivity, recommending changes of process standards and procedures, identifying areas for process/report standardization.
• Ensuring processes and controls within the distribution center network and are monitored consistently. New control measures are designed and implemented in line with group and unit requirements wherever required. Ensuring effective control and maintaining proper audit processes and documentation, ensuring SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) are prepared and updated on a regular basis.

Qualifications for the role:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• 12+ years of progressive experience in financial controlling, accounting, or business finance
• Strong leadership experience managing and developing finance teams
• Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, reporting, cashflow, inventories, reconcilations, internal controls and business intelligence

• Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and confidence in information produced adhering to strict deadlines
• Demonstrated critical thinking capability is required conducting financial analysis, effective problem solving and performing root cause analysis
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
