Summary: The Business Banking Underwriter IV is responsible for underwriting Business Banking loans to determine credit worthiness and compliance with Bank lending policy.

Description:

• Supports Business Banking production by maintaining an individual pipeline of work.
• Reviews all financial and credit application information to make sound credit decisions. Loans typically include complex credit structures and customer exposure up to $10MM.
• Utilizes single approval authority up to $4MM.
• Assesses the risk profile of borrowers.
• Assists with training and mentoring new hires and supports various job families as needed.
• Acts as the primary backup for their manager during team meetings.
• Represents the manager outside of the function group as needed.
• Collaborates with credit and segment risk teams to meet department goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• 7+ years of experience in business or commercial underwriting in a centralized lending environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
• 3-4 years of leadership/management experience
• Ability to underwrite credit exposures over $4MM
• Authority to underwrite and decide credits independently
• Professionalism, confidence, and assertiveness in interactions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet resources
• Strong customer service orientation, motivation, and goal focus
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks
• Ability to adapt and improve team functions independently

• Exempt status: Yes (not eligible for overtime)
