Job summary

UMB Bank's Business Banking team is seeking a Senior Relationship Officer to grow profitable commercial relationships with companies generating between $1M and $35M in annual revenue. You will leverage credit acumen and non-credit products to act as a trusted advisor in our community.

You will engage in community activities to enhance UMB's image, assess credit requests, and present loan commitments for underwriter or loan committee approval while maintaining overall credit quality.

The Business Banking team actively calls on businesses that typically have annual revenue between $1MM and $35MM. The team includes relationship managers, client managers officers, treasury management officers and others that provide a suite of products and services that serve companies of this size. The objective of the group is to earn the title of trusted advisor and help these companies grow and prosper in our community.

As the Business Banking Relationship Officer Sr., you will be responsible for increasing the Bank's profitability by cultivating new commercial relationships and the expansion/retention of existing relationships.In this role you must utilize your credit acumen and be knowledgeable in non-credit products such as Deposit products, treasury management, virtual card, trust, etc. Successful candidates for this role will be resilient, agile, accountable, and driven.

How you'll spend your time

• You will utilize your networking abilities in the community by participating in community and professional activities in order to enhance UMB's image and brand to build new business.
• You will utilize your credit skills to qualify companies eligible for loan business while managing the overall credit quality of assigned portfolio to ensure the loan quality.
• You will utilize your negotiation skills to negotiate loan proposals, analyze & evaluate credit requests & write loan commitments, for presentation to underwriter or loan committee for loan approval.
• Utilizing your communications skills, you will serve as the primary contact for all financial services to individual Business Banking clients with the bank to ensure retention of business.

• You have demonstrated experience in sales to small businesses, credit knowledge, and credit underwriting knowledge.

Compensation Range

$98,208 - $144,705
