Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a student intern in Virginia. This part-time role offers hands-on experience in business management, program analysis, and reporting within a state agency environment.

You will assist with data collection, prepare reports, and support administrative functions while developing practical skills in office procedures and compliance with policies. Eligible students must maintain part-time status and be enrolled in an Associate’s degree or higher.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in an Associate’s degree program or higher.
• Knowledge of business principles and procedures.
• Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment.
• Must maintain a full-time graduate status taking 9 or more credit hours per semester at a college/university before and following internship.
• Must maintain a full-time undergraduate status taking 12 or more credit hours per semester at a community college or 4-year college/university before and following internship.

Responsibilities

• Recommend resolution to administrative or business problems resulting in an effective program.
• Provide administrative support services to assigned program areas.
• Research and compile data and prepare reports or presentations for a variety of programs or projects.
• Assume responsibility for special projects and assignments. Prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
