As a Business Analyst in our Global Operations Sustainability Team, you will engage with cross-organizational leadership and employees as well as global external stakeholders to deliver project outcomes related to Esri’s Environmental Management System (EMS). This includes addressing business challenges and information needs, assessing data availability and quality, designing data visuals, and implementing endorsed information products.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the operation of Esri’s EMS – including Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon accounting, regulatory research and awareness, employee engagement, and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate on projects related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles to further guide Esri’s global operational practices, policies, and compliance.
- Produce project artifacts including requirements documentation, use cases, business process modeling through workflows, data models, permissions models, RACI matrices, and data visuals.
- Elicit requirements using a variety of techniques including interviews, working sessions, surveys, and analysis of existing processes, documentation, information products, and applicable legal regulations.
- Use creativity and analytical skills to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts and distilling high-level information into detailed requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and colleagues to analyze information, define and prioritize requirements, evaluate potential solutions, provide recommendations to stakeholders, and deliver meaningful information products.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with team members to analyze information, define and prioritize requirements, evaluate potential solutions, and communicate status and potential project risks to the Project Manager.
- Produce visualizations, dashboards, and reports.
- Identify endpoints, build data models, produce metrics, and create reports.
Requirements
- 5+ years of direct work experience in a Business Analyst capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
- Strong understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or environmental sustainability.
- Strong understanding of carbon accounting and analysis.
- Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into configuration requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including communication, diplomacy, negotiating, reasoning, problem solving, and influence.
- Ability to identify, research, and understand technical issues.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project).
- Advanced skills in enterprise-level platforms (SAP & Salesforce preferred).
- Ability to multi-task, work independently, and collaborate effectively with a team.
- Proactive, self-starter who enjoys learning new tools and technologies.
- Bachelor’s in business, environmental science, or related field.
Recommended Qualifications
- Background in database administration.
- Advanced skills in Power BI and Power Apps.
- Familiarity with the standards of Technical Writing.
- Background in Agile/Scrum project management methodology.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methods such as DMAIC, Kaizen, and Scrum.
- Experience working with accounting operations, customer services, IST, and other support organizations.
- Familiarity with EMS applications.
